Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter in the flyweight division. Valentina is her elder sister, as well as a fellow UFC participant. Antonina Shevchenko was the first to start combat sports in the form of an Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals via a majority decision. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007 followed by a medal of bronze in 2008 and a medal gold in the year 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion of 2016 by IFMA. Antonia started her professional journey at the age of 23 in 2003. She has taken home numerous championships, including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Champion, Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, and WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The winner was by a unanimous decision. Antonina shevchenko fought her first professional MMA fight in 2002 against Anara bayanova at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won via second-round TKO followed by two more bouts at the WXF X-Impact World Championships to get a 3-0 record. Shevchenko took a short absence from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko won against Anissa by unanimous decision after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 following the departure of the league. Shevchenko beat Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina defeated Nievera by her impressive striking ability at the end of the fight with knees placed on her body. Antonina took a UFC invitation following her win. Antonina was offered an UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi in a split-decision fight after winning the first fight via an unanimous decision. Antonina returned to the ring after losing and defeated Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. The bout earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn and Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She won over Ariane Lipski, and also defeated Ariane. Antonina suffered a loss to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
