Steven Tyler

Steven TylerThe band spent time on Boston's club circuit . They were directed by Frank Connelly their first manager. The group then began to work with Steve Leber, David Krebs, New York managers. They signed a record deal in 1972 and dropped their eponymous debut album in 1973. It was immediately followed by Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, Rocks, and Draw the Line, which catapulted Aerosmith to fame internationally and recognition. The albums featured famous songs like "Dream on", "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's initial five albums were multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks are regarded as some of the best hard rock albums ever. As the decade progressed however, the band's hectic lifestyle of playing, recording and staying together began to wear them down. Due to their famous use of heroin and stimulants, Tyler and Perry were identified as the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music as well as many video releases of Aerosmith show their relationship. Tyler, apparently much more dedicated to Aerosmith was able to feel resentful towards Perry's passiveness and admire Perry's priority for women in his life. Aerosmith was at a low point during the year 1980 due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
