Morgan Smith

A graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University and Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan made his debut as an Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) then in 2001 made his debut on stage playing Donald in Billy Budd. Smith is known as a Seattle favorite and has played the roles in 12 different productions such as Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra and Count Alamaviva, in Le nozze di Figaro. Smith is a regular performer and a frequent guest on stage, made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. In addition, he performed as the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral adaption of Brahmsloved Cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange as part of his orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony. Other concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems composed by Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Durufle; Mass with the Mass in C Minor of Mozart and Mass of G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass, numerous Cantatas as well as Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah and L'Allegro and the il Penseroso ed il Moderato; as well as Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
